Apo 3D 6 for 4th Round Robin

0
0
This is my 6th and final Apo 3D submission for the new Round Robin (4th one) being conducted by :icondwalker1047: and assisted by several others. I used starting params kindly provided by an awesome fractalist, =nightmares06 (waterdropCt) and forwarded to me by `DWALKER1047. The theme for this RR is "Marbles", but they didn't all have to have marbles and since most of mine were, I thought I would break from the motif and show you a tweak based on some params and tips shared with me by :iconpm-ark:. I just love those spiny looking fractals she does, so this is my tweak along those lines. Go check out her gallery to see some really lovely things ([link]). Thanks so much to her for sharing her "secrets". These spiky things were originally based on a great botanical fractals tutorial by :iconmynameishalo: ([link]). The little feathered friend at the bottom was provided for the RR Challenge by `DWALKER1047.

I hope you like.

Full view for detail and download is 1280x960.

Below are the params for the main fractal. Please be aware that these params are for the fractal community and must be tweaked before re-posting as another deviation, not just change the gradient.

Radial Blur Spiral

This is a possible submission to Apo Challenge 21 being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k:. The rules were limiting this week. Variations allowed: linear, curl, curve, blur (any type). Variation required: foci. No Final Transform. This one had potential. I wish I had more time to play with it.

I had trouble getting creative this week. I couldn't even think about starting it until after our Multicultural Festival was finished. I have been working like a banshee the last few weeks and now it's finally done. At least, I tried a couple of things. This is just one of them. Others to be uploaded soon.

Made in Apophysis 7X 2010 and postwork in Photoshop CS.

Secret Garden for LacyDrawers

0
0
I have done another collage, only this time it's definitely a mixed media bag. This is an image I did based on the lovely poem by :iconlacydrawers: (~LACYDRAWERS) "My Secret Garden". I commented on her poem that I would like to make a collage for it and she said, "Yes". So I did. I used fractals and stock images and images I pulled from the web. I hope I get all the credits right:

Night sky is from a gradient [link] by ~onthinair
Glitter curtain is a brush: [link] (This lady has some great brushes, check out her website site)
Gate is a PS brush: [link] by ~angela3d
Pool from [link] by ~fote-stock
Elf boy is an image of a doll from the web: [link]
Goblin is from [link] by ~ranmor
The following all came from the Fairies-Unicorns-Dragons stock image pack by :iconshoofly-stock:
Fairy by the pool, Flying and Kneeling Fairies and Unicorn

The moon is from a photograph I took around my house a year or two ago.

Gosh, I hope I got everybody.

Update 02-06-2013 - I contacted `Shoofly-Stock and actually purchased the stock image pack that contained the fairies and the unicorn. So, I am very pleased to be able to offer this as a print because when you buy the pack you get the permission to publish and sell artwork made using any of the stock images from the pack. I'm so pleased that he has made his stock images available for a very reasonable price. He does some really nice work.

All fractals made in Apo 2.08 3D Hack and all postwork done in Photoshop CS.

Full view for detail (warning - there's a LOT of detail).

Update 07-06-09: Because of :iconrowanraine:'s wonderful critique of this and a few things that I wanted to tinker with, I have uploaded a newer version. I don't think it changes the overall image much, just a few small details. Hopefully, it will have the same feel and impact.

Your Brain on Fractals

This is my entry for the next week's Apophysis WTC - Gnarloscopin'. It is based on the great Gnarloscope script by :iconparrotdolphin:[link]

It looked a lot like a brain to me. I have applied a little FX and PX to the original to give it a more elongated brain-like shape.

Done in Apophysis 2.083D Hack

Full view for detail and download is 1280x1024

Update 08-12-09: This won 1st place in the :iconapophysis: WTC - Gnarloscopin'!!! It took a while to get the results because there was a problem with getting enough entries for the next week's WTC. This was due to an elusive plug-in needed to perform the script which was the basis of the next WTC theme. But eventually it came to light and the results for the previous WTC could be posted. Thanks to all of you Apo members who voted for this!! I really appreciate the support. :iconpyrodanceplz::woohoo:

Apo Rainbow Butterfly Garden

I know...this looks a lot like Welcome to My Apo Garden. However, in view of the great critique by :iconbooleann-angel: and comments from other good artists, I decided to darken the frame, lose the tree, and use something else to balance the "sun" now that the tree was gone. This time my balance are some Apo butterflies. Except for the frame, the grass, the sky gradient, and the clouds, all elements are Apo 2.08 3DH fractals. All postwork done in Photoshop CS. I can't begin to tell you how many layers this is. I think I'm afraid to count them. I hope you like the changes I made.

Turn Off the Bubble Machine

Another julian rears it's bubbly head. The title of this refers to a TV show that probably only us older deviants remember, The Lawrence Welk Show. He was an orchestra leader and he always had these bubbles blowing around the set. My father used to yell at the TV, "Turn off the bubble machine!" and then change the channel.

I hope you find it "Wunnerful, Wunnerful", a Welkism often satirized.

Made with Apophysis 2.08 3D Hack.

Moonlit Apo Garden

Here is a slight variation on my sunny Apo Garden Welcome To My Apo Garden. I read the wonderful critique for it done by *RowanRaine and decided to change the tree and the frame. All elements, except the grass, the sky, the clouds and the moon, are fractals I did in Apo 2.08 3DH. The moon is a photograph I took of the full moon around my house.

I hope you like this little moonlit garden. Come and stay while.

Spiral Fireworks

A possible submission to this week's Apo Challenge 19 being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k:. This week's theme was to use blur, linear and blur (any blur variation). Lots of interesting images came out of this theme. This is just one of them.

Made in Apophysis 7X 2010 and postwork in Photoshop CS.

This is one of the clusters of jellyfish that appear in the Apo Jellyfish montage ([link]). ~YewTree kindly told me how to isolate the jellies so I could put them on another background. I tried it and I think it worked pretty well. What do you think?

Welcome to My Apo Garden

Another collage. I hope I'm not getting OCD over these. I've put some Apo floral elements and some other interesting objet d'arts together and created a little garden. This is for all my wonderful dA friends to come visit awhile.

All elements are fractals with the exception of the grass, the sky and the clouds. Fractals done with Apo 2.08 3D Hack and postwork done in Photoshop CS.

Is it too busy?
