Cicada Hatch-out in Natchez, MS
Here is a pic of a cicada that had recently molted it's shell (look under the leaf where the emerged cicada is) and is ready to hit the trees and make a huge racket! Taken in May 2014. They were really deafening once they hit the peak of the hatch-out. I think they'll be back in huge numbers in 8 or 13 years, I'm not sure which variety this is.
