Fractal Hyperbole

$

According to Wikipedia, "Hyperboles are exaggerations used to create emphasis or effect." I hope this fractal star spiral has an effect on the viewer.

This Apo creation was inspired by Apo Challenge 150 which is being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k: (Stan) and the entries have been submitted. Here's the link to the entries: [link] for the Challenge. They are towards the bottom of the journal post.

This image was not entered into Apo Challenge 150 because I had already submitted one, but I had so much playing around with Apo for the Challenge, I managed to do a few others that I thought I would post.

Here's my entry for Apo Challenge 150:

Made in Apophysis 7X v15 (developed by :iconxyrus02:) and postwork in PhotoPlus X5.

This is another fractal I made as inspired by Apo Challenge 150, being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k: This one is with made with linear3D and the Bubble variations only, as per the rules of the Challenge. I didn't enter this one in the Challenge because I submitted a different picture for it, but I liked the way this came out so I uploaded this one, too. I hope you enjoy it.

Here's the one I did submit for Apo Challenge 150:

Spidey's Halloween

This is a possible entry into :iconxgnyc:'s (Dee) fabulous Annual Halloween Contest! Here's the link to the journal article about the contest: [link]

I wasn't quite sure how to categorize this, but most of the elements in this are fractals (web, ghost and all three pumpkins), but there are also some photographs that I took (the moon and the underbase of the black widow spider is really an Argiope Spider) and some clipart or illustrations from the web (the witch, the black widow body, and the Spiderman costume mask and boots). I'm not sure how I will classify it for the contest, but I'll check with Dee first.

Here's the thumbs of the photos I used in this:

Just playing around, warming up for Apo Challenge 152 being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k:. After a particularly hard one last week, this week's Challenge rules are a bit easier. Here's what it says:

Only 2

Last week's challenge was a very hard one. This week, we'll ease up a bit and go with what I've dubbed a "limiting challenge".

Choose 2 and only two variations from the following list. These are the only two variations allowed in your fractal for the week. Both are required. Remember to work hard to make your fractal aesthetically pleasing.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

This is an Apo fractat that I did in tribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It started out using the rules for Apo Challenge 152 (held Oct 8-15, 2012), but then after I submitted one for the Challenge, I started tweaking and using variations not allowed in the Challenge.

It turned into a rose pink flower with a bright center of hope.

This is my entry for Apo Challenge 153 ([link]) being held by :iconf--l--a--r--k:. Here are the rules for the Challenge:
**************************
Supreme Olde Skool
This week's challenge comes to us by way of suggestion by ~mutequacky. He has suggested that we create a fractal using only the options available to us within Apophysis 2.02. I must say, this was quite some time ago. This means no xaos (and maybe no post-transforms?...I can't recall that far back). Below you will find a list of variations that were in Apophysis 2.02, only plugins on this list are allowed. At the time there weren't even variables for the different variations!
linear
sinusoidal
spherical
swirl
horseshoe
polar
bent
hankerchief
heart
disc
spiral
hyperbolic
diamond
ex
julia
waves
fisheye
popcorn

I hope you all enjoy the throwback!
****************************
I actually opened Apo 2.02 and tried to use it to create the image, but OMG, how far we've come with Apophysis! Not only were there were no variables, xaos or post-transforms, there was no triangle control tab, there was no way to rotate the triangles and you could size and shape them using any of the three vertices called A, B and C, rather than the O, X or Y. There were a number of things that are not in 2.02, but I won't list them all. Suffice to say, it was a very raw environment and I'm so happy for the endeavors of others to get this wonderful program so far with so many nice features and wonderful controls!!

Here are my parameters for this image:

It's a Loonie Espiral World!

This is another possible entry to Apo Challenge 154 [link] being held by the incomparable :iconf--l--a--r--k: (Stan). The rules were pretty simple for this and I think I followed them OK. I only have 3 transforms, 2 regular TX and 1 final TX and I have espiral on one of the regular TXs. But, here are the rules for Apo Challenge 154:

Epispiral

The rules for this week's challenge are very simple.

In three (3) transforms or less, create a stunning fractal using the Epispiral variation on at least one transform.

This is an Apo fractal done using the marvelous Beautiful Colorful 3D Flowers Tutorial [link] by :iconfengda2870:. This is the tutorial currently being done on RedBubble in the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group. [link] This took a little work to tweak, but thanks to the very helpful members of the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group, I got a few more interesting things to pop up. I will continue to play with it.

Here's another one based on the same tutorial:
